Medical Educational Grants, Research Grants

Bausch + Lomb may provide support to eligible external organizations through Medical Education Grants and Research Grants. Commercial colleagues must not participate in the application, review, or approval processes for educational grants, research grants, or alliance support. Quick Tips:

Medical-Educational Grants

Bausch + Lomb offers educational grants exclusively to support independent educational activities that enhance understanding of scientific, clinical, or healthcare topics aimed at improving patient care.

These grants may be provided for both accredited and non-accredited programs as Independent Continuing Medical Education (CME) grants.

All requests for Medical Education Grants should be submitted via the following link: https://www.bausch.com/product-innovation/independent-research-cme-grants/, including all information required by Bausch + Lomb.

Bausch + Lomb does not provide grants for medical education activities in exchange for the promotion or endorsement of its products, nor for any of the following reasons:

  • To influence recipients to order, prescribe, or recommend Bausch + Lomb products, or to reward or compensate them for doing so.
  • As a price concession or price term.
  • To compensate healthcare professionals for their time spent attending the educational event.
  • To cover travel or expenses for non-faculty physicians, nurses, pharmacists, or other healthcare professionals attending conferences or meetings (except for approved Fellowships).
  • To promote Bausch + Lomb products for off-label uses or in ways inconsistent with the approved product labeling.

Medical-Education Grants should be used solely for legitimate expenses related to education or training of HCPs or patients.

Bausch + Lomb Medical Educational Grants are exclusively awarded to independent third-party educational providers, such as medical or professional organizations, academic institutions, and accredited independent providers. These providers must present information that is fair, balanced, accurate, and not misleading.

The grant recipient retains full responsibility and control over the content, organization, and execution of the educational program. Bausch + Lomb does not have control or influence over how the grant funds are utilized. Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities supported by these grants must not promote Bausch + Lomb products, either directly or indirectly, nor have a promotional tone or character. While the Bausch + Lomb logo may be used to disclose financial support, product logos are not permitted.

Bausch + Lomb colleagues may attend medical education programs only if the event is organized by an entity accredited by the ACCME or a similar body to provide continuing education for healthcare professionals. Attendance must be approved in advance by the third-party educational provider. Additionally, only select Medical Affairs professionals are permitted to attend non-CME programs. Attendance at CME programs by Bausch + Lomb colleagues should strictly be for educational purposes. Those attending Bausch + Lomb-supported CME programs must act as silent observers, allowing presenters and providers to conduct the event independently, without interference or participation from Bausch + Lomb.

Colleagues should exercise sound judgment to ensure Bausch + Lomb is not perceived as having inappropriate involvement in these independent educational activities. For guidance on the attendance process and contact information for enrollment, please reach out to the Medical Education Grant Manager.

Research Grants

Bausch + Lomb invests in research aimed at identifying new targets for drug discovery and gaining a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of action for both current and future targets and products. Additionally, Bausch + Lomb supports the development of new assays, as well as enhancements to existing assays, for products and compounds in the discovery phase.
